What is a Dental Crown?

The Manufacturing Process
The process begins with a thorough cleaning of the damaged tooth, often after caries removal or root canal treatment. Then we can design and fabricate your crown, in just one appointment! Our clinic uses CEREC technology to design ceramic crowns.
Your dentist will take an optical impression of the tooth to be restored and its neighbors, creating a 3D model of your crown. The model is sent to the CEREC robot, which machines the tooth from a block of high-grade ceramic. Once the crown has been fabricated, it is adjusted and polished, then fixed to the prepared tooth with dental cement.

What is a Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge is a fixed prosthesis that replaces one or more missing teeth. It consists of two crowns on the teeth adjacent to the gap (called abutment teeth) and artificial teeth (called pontics) that fill the space left by the missing teeth. The bridge is permanently attached to the abutment teeth or dental implants, restoring the functionality of your teeth.
Types of Dental Bridges
Traditional Fixed Bridge
This type of bridge is fixed to the natural teeth adjacent to the edentulous space, using two crowns. It is often used when the abutment teeth are healthy and strong enough to support the bridge.
Bridge on Dental Implants
A bridge can be attached to dental implants to replace 3 to 4 adjacent missing teeth. Implants are artificial titanium tooth roots inserted into the jawbone, providing a stable base for the bridge.
